Fly Casting Workshop near Bansko (BUL)

When time allows, I'm always happy to hop on a plane to help ambitious fly fishers take their casting to the next level. This was the case recently when my friend Stanislav Mankov booked me for a casting workshop in Bulgaria.

The area around the Bansko ski resort was ideal for training several enthusiastic Bulgarian fly fishers of varying skill levels, up to the EFFA Master level. Although it was very hot in Bulgaria, with temperatures exceeding 30°C, everyone's enthusiasm for learning made them forget the heat and turned the workshop into an unforgettable experience. We had a sports field available for dry-land casting practice, and for water casting, we went to a nearby reservoir, allowing everyone to work towards and ultimately achieve their goals. The editor of Bulgaria's oldest hunting and fishing magazine also made a point of stopping by to take some pictures for the magazine, which he gladly gave me. Many thanks!
